Lachlan & Deb wanted something unique for their wedding, and nothing says unique like sharing pre dinner drinks and canapés with 140 of your closest friends and family in the Skeleton Gallery of the Australian Museum. Its 100 skeletons – including the horseman and the rocking-chair man with his dog – occupy a traditional space of dark timber and muted tones, specifically lit to reveal its best features.
From here the guests were ushered into The Foyer for a delicious 3 course dinner.
Just before the entrees were served the Bridal Party made a grand entrance down the spectacular staircase into The Foyer. Built in 1868, this part of the Museum retains much of its original finish. High windows surround a spacious dining area, and square columns which were lit with rich golden up lights support a high colonial-style ceiling. The famous sperm whale skeleton lit with stunning blue lighting hangs in the roof-space and made an amazing focal point.
After dinner the guests danced the night away to a two-piece jazz band. |

Meaghan,
Deb and I have just returned from our honeymoon
and would like to thank you and all of the staff at
the Australian Museum and Laissez Faire for the
hard work that contributed to make our wedding
day the best day of our lives. We truly had a
fantastic night and every one of our guests that we
have spoken with share this sentiment.
We especially thank you personally for providing
us with your assistance throughout the night and
in the days leading up to the wedding. It made our
preparations for the big day so much easier. It was
more than reassuring to know that everything
would go off without a hitch and with such a high
degree of professionalism. Our wedding was truly
everything we were hoping for.
Thank you again. |
